Rooms drawn to a real size

The master bedroom is 12 by 19 feet. The kitchen is 18 by 19. Those are the numbers worth checking against any other plan you are considering, because a room described as a master and a room that takes a king bed with furniture around it are frequently not the same thing.

An 18 by 19 foot kitchen is large enough to be the room the household actually lives in, which in a cabin is usually what happens regardless of how the plan intended it.

Single storey at 2,000 square feet

Putting 2,000 square feet on one floor needs a 40 by 50 footprint, and the payoff is a house with no stairs anywhere in it. The single-slope roof carries ceilings from eight feet up to fifteen across the living space.

The overall build height is 17 feet 1 inch, which is remarkably low for a house this size and clears height limits that would rule out a two-storey equivalent.

Outside and foundation

A large front deck runs the tall elevation. Washer and dryer space is drawn in. The foundation is slab or concrete pier.
