Exterior and interior renderings are illustrative. Furniture, landscaping and finishes are not part of the plan set unless listed.
An alpine cottage on a 32 foot square footprint, 1,400 square feet over two levels, three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a master loft that has its own bathroom. The alpine cottage plans arrive as a PDF plan set.

Giving the loft its own bathroom is what turns it from a sleeping platform into a proper suite. It means the upper floor functions independently of the rest of the house, so whoever is up there does not come downstairs at night, and the two ground-floor bedrooms keep the main bathroom to themselves.
Exterior walls are 2x6 framed at 24 inch centres. The deeper cavity takes more insulation and the wider spacing means fewer studs bridging heat through the wall, which is the pair of decisions that decides how a cabin performs in winter. The roof is rated to 95 pounds per square foot of snow load.
Ceilings are held at eight feet, which is the sensible choice in an alpine building: less volume to heat, and warm air stays where people are rather than collecting at a ridge.
Patios front and back. Slab and crawl space foundations are both drawn, so the plan suits either ground conditions or preference without a redraw.
The download is a full construction set: dimensioned floor plans for each level, exterior elevations on all four sides, building sections and construction details, a foundation plan with floor, wall and roof framing layouts, an electrical layout, window and door schedules, and a roof plan with pitch and overhang dimensions. It arrives as a PDF once payment is confirmed.
Permit requirements depend on your location, site and proposed construction. Your building department determines which drawings, calculations and professional approvals are required, and local review may identify changes needed to the plans. Some departments ask for an engineer’s stamp or a foundation designed around your own soil report; arrange these with a local engineer.
If these alpine cottage plans are not quite the right size, browse every design in Cabin, or compare this one with Modern A-Frame Cabin, 30×42 and Adirondack Cabin, 20×26.
