Drawn for a sloping site

Most cabin plans assume level ground and leave you to solve the slope yourself, usually by building up an expensive stepped foundation. This one starts from the slope. The basement opens at grade on the low side, with proper windows and its own door, so the lower level is a real storey with daylight rather than a cellar.

On a hillside lot that turns your most awkward constraint into an extra floor. It is the reason this plan holds three bedrooms and three bathrooms on a footprint of 864 square feet.

Inside

The living space is double height, with a 280 square foot loft above it. A front deck runs off the main level, taking advantage of the view that a sloping site usually comes with. There is dedicated washer and dryer space.

Structure

A 13 in 12 roof pitch, steeper than a right angle to the horizontal, which is the traditional Nordic profile and sheds snow before it can load the structure. The building is rated for 115 mile per hour winds, so it suits exposed ground as well as sheltered.
